Tahitian Pearl’s are some of the rarest pearls in the world! They come in a variety of vibrant colors, the rarest of which are blue, green, aubergine, and 🦚peacock - a combination of pinkish, purple and green or blue. Only about 1-2% of Tahitian Pearls are perfectly round and flawless, which makes them very sought after.
I personally prefer them when they are in more interesting shapes. I think it pops the color! These stunning Pearls take 18 to 24 months to cultivate, sometimes even longer if they want the pearl to be bigger - however the longer you leave the nucleus in the oyster, the more chances there are of it shifting, and not being perfectly round. In addition, they have a 40% mortality rate so only about 60% of the Pearls they culture even make it to harvest.
