If you want to escape the tourist crowds and eat exactly where the locals go, you have to check out Can Boneta. Located in the Eixample district, this intimate neighborhood spot is an absolute dream for authentic Catalan cuisine! 🥘🍷
We didn’t see a single tourist the entire night. Just pure, local neighborhood vibes and some of the most fantastic food we’ve had on the trip. Every small plate is packed with incredible, imaginative flavors. 💯 Best of all? It was just a short, easy walk from our hotel! 🚶‍♂️✨ There is nothing better than wandering through the quiet city streets right back to your room after a perfect dinner.

💡 Pro Tip: It’s small and fills up fast with neighborhood regulars, so be sure to secure a reservation in advance!

Barcelona has no shortage of beautiful architecture, but stepping inside the Sagrada Família is an experience all its own. 🤍

And here’s a little secret: the time of day makes ALL the difference.

Morning sunlight illuminates the cooler blues and greens, but late afternoon brings out the fiery reds, deep oranges and golden hues of Gaudí’s spectacular stained-glass windows. 🌈☀️

The rumors are true: Bar Cañete completely stole the show. 🤤🔥
We were told this was a must-visit, but it easily became the absolute best dinner of our entire Barcelona trip. It’s officially Michelin-recommended, and the experience lived up to the hype especially when our waiter sat us in the back dining room right underneath a signed note on the wall from Gwyneth Paltrow, marking her exact table. 👑✨
While everyone raves about the chaotic bar counter, slipping into those back dining tables is the ultimate way to experience this place. The service is legendary, the w**e flows, and the kitchen is on another level.
Our waiter recommended their calamari sandwich, and let me tell you—it was an absolute revelation. Crispy, tender, and effortlessly elite. Pair that with a plate of their masterfully executed, garlicky pan con tomate, and honestly, every single dish we tried was a core culinary memory in the making. 🥪🍅🍤
Just a heads up: reservations are non-negotiable here. You definitely need to book well in advance, especially during high tourist season. We locked our table in at least a month out, and it was worth every bit of planning. 🗓️✈️

Goodbye, Costa Brava… and hola, Barcelona! 🇪🇸✨ We said farewell to the breathtaking coves and turquoise waters of the Costa Brava and made our way to Barcelona, a city where centuries of history meet extraordinary art and architecture.

First, we had to brave Barcelona’s traffic and roundabouts 😅 before returning our rental car and checking into The One Barcelona—five-star luxury with the soul of a chic art gallery.

Still thinking about the interior design here! 🤍 Architectural details, moody lighting, sculptural touches, and the dreamiest golden-hour spots… every corner feels thoughtfully curated.

And the location? A jackpot. 📍 Just steps from Passeig de Gràcia, Barcelona’s elegant boulevard of designer boutiques, stunning architecture, and world-class people-watching.

Even better, Gaudí’s mind-bending masterpieces, Casa Batlló and Casa Milà (La Pedrera), are just a short stroll away. No taxis, no metro drama—just incredible architecture right outside our door. 📸✨

Costa Brava gave us the sea; Barcelona is giving us art, history, and a little urban glamour. Let the city adventures begin! 🥂🇪🇸

💙 Aiguablava. Where the name says it all.

Meaning “blue water” in Catalan, Aiguablava is one of the most beautiful beaches on the Costa Brava. Its shallow, calm, crystal-clear turquoise water meets soft golden sand, surrounded by rugged cliffs and lush Mediterranean greenery. 🌊☀️

We spent the day soaking up the sunshine, swimming in those impossibly clear waters, and enjoying an incredible light bite and drinks at Toc al Mar overlooking the bay. The perfect Costa Brava beach day! 🇪🇸✨

Next stop on our Costa Brava adventure… and this one is pretty hard to beat. 🌊🏰

Tossa de Mar is where medieval stone walls meet turquoise Mediterranean water, with cobblestone streets, hidden coves, dramatic cliffs and views around basically every corner.

At the heart of it all is Vila Vella, the beautifully preserved medieval walled town overlooking the sea. Built between the 12th and 14th centuries, it’s the only fortified medieval town still standing on the Catalan coast.

We wandered. We explored. We stopped approximately 400 times to take pictures. 😂

And ended the day with a fabulous dinner at Can Gol, tucked right at the foot of the medieval walls. Chef Jordi Oller created the restaurant as a tribute to the traditional local recipes passed down by his grandmother, Maria Gol. 🤍

History + Mediterranean views + an incredible dinner?

Amber Erin Travels ✈️🇪🇸 SPAIN | Part 1

Barcelona bound to drop the last college babe off for her semester abroad 🥹🤍 and then… road trip.

We rented a car and headed north toward Costa Brava, Spain’s ridiculously beautiful stretch of Mediterranean coastline.

First stop: Blanes 🌿 and the spectacular Marimurtra Botanical Garden, perched right on the cliffs above the sea. Think cypress-lined paths, Mediterranean plants, hidden coves, the little white Temple of Linné and views that just keep going.

A few Amber-approved travel notes:

🚗 Rent a car if you’re exploring Costa Brava. Some of the best little towns are much easier to reach that way, and the drives are gorgeous.

🤏 Rent a SMALL car. Google Maps has absolutely no problem directing you down a street that was clearly intended for a horse in 1612. 😂

🌿 Put Marimurtra Botanical Garden on the list.
