One this special day across the MLB, Oris has partnered with the Yankees to releases a special limited edition watch honoring and celebrating the life of Lou Gehrig ⚾️

This watch is set to have a run of 2,130 pieces which is the exact number of games that Lou played consecutively.

What makes this watch and Oris so special, is that they tie this limited pieces back to the community and giving back. Some of the proceeds from these watches will go directly to the Lou & Eleanor Family Foundation.

A Watch inspired from the console that defined a generation 🎮

This one takes me back to late-night gaming sessions. Battling each other over intense Crash Team Racing tracks …. where a controller or two may have been broken (sorry mom)😅

Huge thanks to Watch Unicorn for sending over the PlayStation Dark Mode watch. my first impressions? A great focuse on intentional design that invoked feelings of nostalgia and will definitely be a conversation starter.

Made my way down to “La Isla del Encanto” thanks to the brotherhood of the traveling watch ⌚️

I got to spend a few days with the Picúa & Tiburón from and they did not disappoint.

Had some time to kill in New York City so we walked right past the Swatch line and into the NYC Discovery Studio ⌚️

This space is a watch enthusiasts paradise filled with staff who all share a true passion for watches and with watches you usually only see on the other side of a computer screen.

On top of that, the space is also used for events that allow you to learn more about the brands and the people behind them. Just the other weekend they brought together some independent brands from the UK like Christopher Ward, Bremont, Fears & Dennison to celebrate British Watch Making.

If your planning a trip to NYC, I highly recommend stopping by the Studio and if you’re in the area, keep an eye out for future events to come 👀

A lot of videos coming out of the Swatch x AP release today were tough to watch.

Here are a few ways I think they could’ve easily avoided the chaos but claimed all the hype they were looking to achieve.

1. Be Proactive, Not Reactive
2. Sell it Online
3. Assign purchasing Windows to those who showed interest

I fear not much will change in the way these launches happen going forward or in the way people act in situations like these.

People fighting and getting arrested over a plastic watch… What are we even doing ?

This AP x Swatch rollout has been an absolute embarrassment. If you have to close multiple stores due to safety concerns, you’ve failed. All this shows to me is that these brands do not have a single ounce of concern for their consumers, especially the Swatch group since it’s happening at their stores. After seeing these videos, it makes me never want to talk about or own a watch that is a part of the Swatch Group. This could’ve been easily avoided.
