Cavansite

Rare blue mineral first found in Oregon in 1967, but most of it comes from India. Mining has slowed and supply is depleting making large specimens highly collectable and valuable.

Mining is difficult because most pockets are found at water level and require the water to be pumped out every 10 minutes in order to extract it.

However, we have a few smaller specimens that are very affordable.

Did you know the blue color in cavansite does not come from copper but a metal ion vanadium?
