May Exhibit at Gallery North
Capturing The Glow, art by Eve Ingraham and Lauriel Sandstrom
Artists Reception, Saturday, May 10th 1-4pm, Gallery North, Edmonds
Eve Ingraham and Lauriel Sandstrom met at a Seattle CoArts Samish Retreat. They soon realized that they had a similar intent in their watercolor work: to capture the glow in their paintings. After taking a watercolor class from artist Jan Hart together, they decided to team up for a featured artist show at Gallery North where Eve is a member. The name of the show is Capturing the Glow. Take a look at their paintings to see if you agree.
Eve Ingraham is also a long time jewelry artist. Her jewelry work is very diversified. She makes one of a kind or unique design series work. Eve loves to combine gems with individual handmade components. She works in fine silver, sterling and mixed metals always trying to create an intuitive “wow” moment where the piece transcends the materials into simple beauty. Her work for the show is focused on creating a “landscape” in jewelry. Eve is also an enamel artist. She is excited to share her spring color enamel pieces with you.
Lauriel Sandstrom came to watercolor painting after her retirement as a flight attendant. She has traveled throughout the world experiencing many cultures and environments. She is drawn to painting people, animals and water in motion. Her love of color is what attracts her to a painting subject. Putting the luminescent glow of those experiences on paper, with a paintbrush is her goal! She truly enjoys sharing her explorations and adventures in the surf, in the garden and in daily life. In addition to studying with Jan Hart, she has taken classes and workshops with local artists, Colleen Ozora and Mary Anderson and nationally recognized artists, Bev Jozwiak, Theresa Goesling and Cindy Briggs. She is a juried member of Seattle CoArts which exhibits monthly at the Northwest Hospital.
Eve Ingraham just returned from a painting trip to Cost Rica. Her new paintings reflect the jungle landscape and birds cascaded with light and color. The Northwest is also a place that Eve loves to sketch and paint with both city scenes and water views. She works in watercolor, pastel and mixed media. Eve has studied art at the Uof W, Frye Art through SPU, and Pratt Art. She has also worked in small classes and one on one with many fine artists. Eves work can be found at Gallery North and on her website.: www.evecreate.com. She is a juried member of Seattle CoArts which exhibits monthly at the Northwest Hospital. She has shown her work throughout the Northwest and Arizona.
