Hi All, Season's Greeting and Happy New Year! Things have been rocking along well here at my studio at 320 Studios. I have been here less than 1 year and I highty recommend getting a base away from home. For many years I worked out of the basement with all it's attendant distractions--cold, laundry to do, dog barking at someone...I have really enjoyed this space and I am at least 100% more productive.
Also, if you haven't heard, a group of us opened an Artist's Coop here in the front of the Studios. We call it Alchemy: An Artists' Cooperative. There are 14 of us and we have been open since November 6. It has been a great way for me to assess what people want and I have been able to sell some higher end items so that is great for me.
Below is a list of classes that I will be teaching this winter. Go to this link to see/sign up http://landerartcenter.com/classschedule . I will do a Metal Clay Workshop for Lander Art Center January 15-17 (COMING RIGHT UP!). A Jewelry/Metals class with sawing, soldering, etc. in February/March and a series of fun, one-night, wine included project classes. For these I will be teaching torch fired enameling, found object jewelry and glass fusing.
I will also be teaching my basic Metal Clay Workshop in Jackson Hole at the Art Association there April 22-24. Go here to read/sign up http://artassociation.org/education/adult-classes/class-creative-silver-metal-clay-293/ .
Another relatively new and exciting development is a class coming up at Maker Space 307 http://makerspace307.org/classes/ . This class will run us through using the laser cutter to produce a texture plate from our own artwork or from copyright free images from the internet. With that unique and personal texture we will produce one of a kind pieces of silver jewelry. An action-packed half-day class! Here is a photo of a piece I made from my daughter, Annika's original etching as well as a few other examples... Please note that the date for the class will change..
