Be part of Muse, a new artist showcase series that celebrates legendary creators through an immersive drag show fundraiser. Our inaugural event honors Frida Kahlo, and we want YOUR art to be part of it!

About the Series: Muse is the first of many themed spectaculars benefiting Van Go. Each year will be inspired by a different iconic artist, creating opportunities for local artists to exhibit and sell work while supporting Van Go programming. Local drag queens will walk the runway, outfitted in works by contributing fashion and jewelry designers. Accompanying each drag performance will be a small runway showing of additional fashion, jewelry, and art. Together, we will create a themed celebration—making this a truly collaborative, artist-driven series.

We’re seeking:

Visual Artists
Paintings, prints, ceramics, mixed media inspired by Frida’s work, Mexican culture, or themes of resilience, identity, and self-expression

Pieces to display in gallery after they walk the runway (percentage of sales benefits Van Go)

Jewelry Designers
Bold, statement pieces echoing Frida’s dramatic aesthetic.
Traditional/contemporary Mexican-inspired designs.
Work featuring florals, skulls, hearts, religious iconography.
Fashion Designers

Collections inspired by Frida’s iconic style, vibrant colors, and folkloric elements. Pieces that celebrate cultural heritage and fearless self-expression. Designs that challenge conventions. Why Participate?

Submission Details:

Application Deadline: March 6th
If artwork is selected, deadline for completed artwork is April 25th (Muse is May 2)

Artists will be notified by 5pm on March 9 if they have been selected
