From Silver to Platinum — A Special Recreation

My client wore her original woven silver ring for years, but over time, the metal began to crack. After repairing it, she decided she wanted the same design recreated in platinum, with a little more weight and durability.

I started by drawing platinum wire down to 1.2 mm, weaving the strands together, and running them through my rolling mill to achieve the right dimensions. From there, I formed the ring and laser welded the ends together, creating a seamless joint.

The result is a beautiful, heavier platinum version of a ring she’s loved for years, now made to last a lifetime.

Best of all, my client loves her new ring!

From the Port of LA & Long Beach to the Port of Seattle ⚓️

This Longshore hook is on its way north to a Longshore sister at the Port of Seattle, carrying on a proud multigenerational family tradition on the waterfront.

For some, Longshore is more than a career—it’s a family legacy, passed from one generation to the next. This piece represents that history, pride, hard work, and connection to the waterfront.

Wear it with pride and carry the tradition forward. ILWU strong.

A Galaxy in an Opal ✨

I just finished this beautiful opal pendant, set in 14k yellow gold. What caught my eye about this stone was its high dome, incredible depth, and the way the colors seem to come alive as the light moves across it.

There’s something mystical about a fine opal. No two ever look quite the same, and if you stare into one long enough, it can feel like you’re looking into a tiny galaxy of color.

A simple setting that lets an extraordinary stone do all the talking.

When a Repair Requires a Better Solution

My client’s oval diamond had become loose and ultimately fell out after multiple attempts to tighten and repair the setting.

After examining the ring, it was clear the original prongs were simply under-engineered for daily wear. Rather than attempt another temporary repair, I cut out the existing head and replaced it with a much stronger die-struck head, then securely reset her diamond.

Sometimes a successful repair isn’t just about fixing what failed—it’s about correcting why it failed in the first place.

Now she can wear her ring with confidence, knowing her diamond is secure.

From the Ports of LA & Long Beach to San Francisco ⚓️

This custom Longshore hook was made here in Southern California and shipped north to San Francisco for a brother from Local 10.

Demetrius, I know you’ll wear your hook with pride. It’s always an honor creating a piece that represents the history, hard work, and brotherhood of the Longshoremen.

Different ports. Different locals. Same brotherhood. ⚓️

A piece with a deeper meaning.

My client came to me wanting to create something special for herself—something that would represent her faith and her life’s journey.

Together, we designed this three-bar Orthodox cross, crafted in white gold and set with diamonds. More than just a piece of jewelry, it’s something deeply personal to her—a reflection of where she’s been, what she believes, and the journey that has shaped her life.

These are the pieces I especially enjoy creating. Jewelry that is beautiful, but carries a story and meaning that belongs entirely to the person wearing it.

Sometimes getting it right means taking a second look.

This platinum men’s ring was originally hand engraved with a grapevine design and set with blue diamonds. After the first round of engraving, my client and I realized there had been a misunderstanding about the style and depth he had envisioned.

We talked it over, came up with a new game plan, and went back to work.

We kept the same overall theme, but this time I hand engraved the design in deep relief, giving the ring much more dimension and allowing the grapes, leaves, and vines to really stand out. The blue diamonds add just the right amount of color and contrast against the platinum.

The before and after really shows what a difference the deeper engraving made.

Custom work is sometimes a process. Good communication and a willingness to keep working until the piece reflects what my client envisioned are just as important as the craftsmanship itself.
