Not to toot my own horn, but I think we’ve built something pretty special here.

When I started Gjenmi, I wanted fine jewelry to feel less intimidating, more approachable, and a lot more personal.

I wanted clients to feel comfortable asking questions, bringing in their old jewelry, talking about budgets, and coming in with their families- yep even their kids. We’re ready for them ✨❤️😊

Its always been about no pressure. no unnecessary upselling. just good jewelry, honest conversations, and hopefully a little fun, celebrating & getting to know you along the way.

is not your traditional jewelry store. And I hope it never is. ✨💅❤️ xx JS

I will always respect a client’s budget. But part of my job is also being honest when I think a budget is making us compromise too much.

There are usually ways to adjust a custom project—stone size, diamond count, weight, details, etc.—and still make something beautiful. But there’s a point where we’ve changed so much that we’re no longer making the piece you originally wanted.

And thennnn this is what happens next. A year or two later, you’re ready to spend the money to make the original design anyway.

Now you’ve essentially paid for the project twice.

Sometimes the smarter financial decision isn’t figuring out how to make something as cheaply as possible. It’s waiting until your budget allows you to make the thing you actually want/wear/love forever and ever and ever 🥰🙂 also, is it strange that both or the before/after pieces are by ? 😂😬

Measure twice, cut once. Apparently it applies to jewelry too.

This is one of those conversations I have often now. People remember what they paid for a chain, ring or pair of earrings several years ago and understandably expect something similar today. But the cost of gold has changed so dramatically that those older prices are no longer realistic.

And as a jewelry designer, this is one of the hardest parts of my job right now. I know what these pieces used to cost too. I remember being able to offer certain styles at prices that would be impossible today. It’s one of the reasons I started in the first place—to create beautiful fine jewelry that felt welcoming, not intimidating. A place where you could ask questions, explore your own style and feel just as comfortable buying your first piece as your tenth.

So if you’ve recently looked at fine jewelry and experienced a little sticker shock, you’re not imagining it—and the jeweler isn’t necessarily charging more just because they can. We are all buying gold in the same market.

The necklace may look and may even be exactly the same.

What it costs to make it unfortunately is not. 🫣🫠🙃 My advice to everyone is, do it now before gold goes up (again). 😬

Heirlooms don’t have to stay exactly as they were to remain meaningful.

This piece of jewelry was transformed into something that still carries its history, but feels completely personal and wearable for its next chapter.

I added my original notes and sketches from our initial meeting because I love showing the part that happens between the before and after—the conversations, tiny details and ideas that eventually become the finished piece. ✨🥹

Same stones. A new life.

Finished in 14k White Gold, he decided to go with a classic evergreen setting. 🤍

You guys know I love a 2-for-1 second life project. 🤍

Sometimes the second piece takes a little time to reveal itself. We finish the first, live with it for a bit, and eventually figure out what the leftover stones want to become.

And sometimes—like this one—I can see both pieces immediately.

I especially love these two rings together because they are almost opposite ends of the design spectrum. One is substantial, bold and weighty. The other is delicate, asymmetrical and a little unexpected.

And I loved that she was excited about both.

She wasn’t attached to the idea that everything in her jewelry collection needed to have the same look or personality. We took the diamonds from her original ring, added a handful of extra diamonds to the tapered baguettes we already had, and created a second ring that felt completely different—and completely custom to her.

I say this all the time: you don’t need 10 versions of the same piece of jewelry just because you know you like it.

A jewelry collection is so much more interesting when there’s some range in it.

Same original ring. Two very different second lives. And not a stone wasted. 🤍

Some jewelry marks the biggest moments in your life.

Here is a custom his + hers wedding band set I made in 14k yellow gold. His is an understated 3mm band—which I absolutely loved for him—finished in a soft matte finish.

For hers, we decided on a little more flash with an alternating oval + emerald cut diamond eternity band. I meticulously chose the depth of each diamond because I never want an eternity band to feel too bulky between your fingers, especially when working with larger diamonds like these.

These are the little details I obsess over with custom jewelry. It’s not just about making something beautiful—it has to feel good enough to actually live your life in it.

And I especially love knowing these two pieces get to mark such a big moment in theirs.

And sometimes the meaning is much quieter and little more personal.

Here, I’m wearing the new beloved ring. It’s engraved with Luna’s own writing, exactly as she made it. It This particular ring will always be one of my most special pieces because her handwriting won’t look like this forever. She won’t be this age forever. But I get to keep this little version of her with me forever. 🤍

It started with a tennis bracelet, a few left over diamonds & getting to know someone 🤍

It ended with a truly one of a kind charm necklace.
