Car-Mageddon 2011 LA
The 405 shutdown creates community panic. Los Angeles bars and restaurants unite July 15-17, 2011 to ease the suffering with www.Car-mageddon.com. Angelenos are no strangers to traffic, but once in a decade, forces combine to bring even the bravest to a standstill. Friday, July 15th-17th, a 12-Mile stretch of the most famous freeway in America, “The 405”, will shut down for i
mprovements. Local businesses are coming together to commiserate. Bars, restaurants and stores all over the heart of LA will be offering “Car-Mageddon” discounts to weary travelers, benefiting the GO Campaign (www.gocampaign.org), a Santa Monica-based nonprofit that supports vulnerable children around the world. Affected bars and restaurants are encouraged to offer specials, including “Irish car bombs. Cadillac margaritas, Fat Tire”, and the like for grid-locked patrons by registering their participatory location on www.Car-Mageddon.com
A limited number of official “Car-Mageddon” t-shirts, “Car-Strong” bracelets, & bumper stickers will be sold for a good cause, and will entitle the bearers to the aforementioned discounts. www.Car-mageddon.com will feature a map of all participating businesses and their discount/specials for this monumental occasion.
