Citrine and topaz reflect the colors of the autumn sky. While citrine ranges from sunny yellow to orange, topaz comes in a wide range of hues. In addition to yellow, orange and brown, topaz can be pink to red, purple, blue or light green; it can also be colorless. The coveted Imperial topaz is a trade name for gems in the reddish orange to orange-red color range.

Both gemstones can occur in large sizes and are fairly durable, with citrine having a hardness of 7 and topaz 8 on the Mohs scale.

Seen here from left to right are a 103.66 carat (ct) blue topaz, a 332.24 ct topaz named the Imperial Flame and a 214.91 ct citrine, all of them fantasy cut into stunning shapes that show off the gems' size, color and clarity and provoke the imagination.
