If you are not familiar with Moldavite, it is a glass like substance that is formed when a meteorite strikes the earth. The intense heat and pressure turns the dirt, sand, rocks, etc into a molten substance and sends it flying into the atmosphere. As it falls and cools off it turns into moldavite. I wasn't there to witness this, but I have been told this is the origin😂 A herkimer Diamond is a small quartz crystal mined in Herkimer New York. Why is it called Herkimer Diamond? I am guessing because there is nothing else going on In Herkimer New York, and Diamond sounds better than quartz.
