Still one of my favorites.

Over the years I’ve made bracelets in many different colors and styles, but I find myself returning again and again to this simple combination of natural cane and tortoiseshell end caps.

It’s classic, versatile, and easy to wear every day. Whether I’m headed to work, teaching a workshop, or spending time by the water, this is one I reach for often.

One step closer.

Today was all about fitting, marking, gluing, and clamping the outer rim of this Nantucket basket before moving on to the next stage.

My workbench is currently filled with baskets at various stages of completion, some just getting started, some nearly finished, and others waiting for the next step. It’s a good reminder that handcrafted pieces don’t come together all at once.

Whether I’m making a basket or teaching a Nantucket bracelet workshop, the things I enjoy most are the same: quality materials, attention to detail, and the satisfaction of creating something by hand.

What you’re seeing here is just one small step in a much longer process, and that’s part of what makes it so rewarding.

A little behind the scenes tonight.

Before a bracelet workshop ever begins, there’s plenty of preparation that happens first. I’m sorting and bundling cane for several upcoming workshops, making sure everything is ready before students arrive.

One of my favorite parts of teaching is helping people create something with their own hands and leave with a bracelet that’s uniquely theirs.

My next public workshop will be held June 25 from 6–8 PM at the Dartmouth Cultural Center.

No two bracelets end up exactly alike.

One of my favorite parts of teaching these workshops is watching each person make different choices and create something uniquely their own.
