Five months ago, I made myself a promise.
I wanted to create my fall jewelry collection by making the most of the beautiful materials I already owned.
Not because I had run out of ideas, but because I believe creativity and sustainability can go hand in hand.
With a few carefully chosen additions, Maria’s skilled hands, and Nicci‘s beautiful photography, what began as a personal challenge became a collection I’m especially proud of.
And this weekend, I’ll finally get to share it with you at Oak Hall Memphis!
Sometimes limitations don’t hold us back. They’ve helped us discover possibilities we might otherwise have overlooked.

For 25 years, I’ve designed jewelry for women with one thing in common. They have minds of their own.
And I’ve learned something important along the way.
A woman can look absolutely beautiful in a necklace, but if she doesn’t feel like herself wearing it, something is missing. That’s why I listen. To what catches your eye. What makes you hesitate. And sometimes, what surprises you about your own choices.
I believe the greatest pleasure isn’t becoming someone else’s idea of beautiful.
It’s discovering another dimension of your own individuality.
That’s the world of Myrna Halpern jewelry. A place where how you feel matters most.

I grew up surrounded by four remarkable women who had very different personalities but shared one extraordinary quality: They knew how to make life worth living.
One was glamorous and supremely confident. Another could find humor in almost anything. Then my aunt who baked cakes in the middle of the night when she couldn’t sleep, and gave them all away the next day. Finally my mother who always seemed to know exactly what I needed to hear.
They weren’t perfect. They were opinionated, temperamental, endlessly generous, and fiercely devoted to the people they loved.
Here’s what I’ve come to appreciate most.
They didn’t just give me advice. They made me believe in myself.
And now all these decades later, I realize that the most meaningful way to thank them is to pass that same gift along to other women.
I wonder how many of us are carrying around little pieces of the women who came before us.

I’ve always thought one necklace was a perfectly good beginning. But why stopped there?
I love experimenting with unexpected combinations of color, texture, and shape sometimes the pieces I never imagine wearing together turn out to be my favorites. And that’s the fun of layering. There isn’t just one right combination. There’s room to play, experiment, and discover what appeals to your own eye.

I’ve always loved a classic. But give it an unexpected twist, and suddenly it has a personality all its own. That’s what I love about designing jewelry. Sometimes the smallest departure from what’s expected makes the biggest difference.
This new Lexie necklace is a perfect example. I deliberately placed its hand woven focal point off center because I’ve always believed individuality is more interesting than perfect balance. And isn’t that true of women too? The little differences are often what makes us most interesting.
A new group of Lexie designs arrives Sunday. Each has its own personality, and perhaps one will feel like yours.
Follow along for fresh perspectives on style, individuality, and the unexpected beauty in everyday life.

One of the things I’ve always loved about trunk shows is watching women enjoy the experience of discovering jewelry together.
The ladies and these photographs were doing exactly that!
But after 20 years of working closely with women, I’ve noticed something interesting.
Occasionally, a woman finds a necklace she absolutely loves, only to have a friend expressed a different opinion.
Usually, I stay out of it. After all, choosing jewelry is very personal.
But when I know a woman well, or she’s told me exactly what she’s looking for, and she’s found it, I may gently speak up on her behalf.
Sometimes a woman just needs an ally.

Fall fashions return to ball colorblocking got my imagination going.
I envisioned a necklace combining rich autumn colors, but I couldn’t be certain the combination would work until I saw it assembled.
So I strung the woven thread beads in the exact sequence I’d imagined.
And I loved it!
Now it’s off for the finishing touches before my upcoming trunk show.

I never expected to come home from the Olympic rainforest with such an expensive souvenir!
It wasn’t something I packed in my suitcase. It was a newfound fascination with the color green.
First, a gray green house in Port Townsend caught my eye. Then I found myself researching similar paint colors for our Memphis home.
My last clothing purchase in Washington? A green sweater, in a shade I wouldn’t ordinarily have chosen.
And back in Memphis, I unexpectedly fell in love with a new car in a color called Nori green, named after the Japanese word for seaweed.
But the sweetest coincidence of all had nothing to do with shopping.
At our family reunion in Washington, my husband, born in 1945, held our newest little cousin, Olive, born in 2025. Exactly 80 years between them.
Apparently, green wasn’t the only unexpected thing I brought home from Washington I brought home a few more wonderful memories too.
