Clint Eastwood is 96 years old, officially retired, and his legacy in film is untouchable.

His son Kyle confirmed the news in a recent interview, saying, "Now he's retired, he's 95 years old," and that working with his father was "a great experience." His final film as director was Juror Number 2 in 2024, and his last on-screen role was Cry Macho in 2021.

The legacy he leaves behind is untouchable. The Dollars Trilogy made him a global icon. The Outlaw Josey Wales and Pale Rider defined the western genre for a generation. Dirty Harry gave us the most quoted line in cinema. Then he stepped behind the camera and delivered Unforgiven, Million Dollar Baby, Mystic River, Gran Torino, and American Sniper back to back to back.

Forty films as a director. Over 70 years as an actor. Four Academy Awards. And not a single moment where he pretended to be anything other than exactly who he is.

He rode off into the sunset on his own terms. Thank you for everything, Clint. Enjoy the retirement. You earned it.
