Coffee With Dragons Design "Dragon Approved Treasures for your Trove!"

12/20/2025

I’ve been working on a new piece inspired by Art Nouveau jewelry from the late Victorian and Edwardian eras, and I didn’t expect it to feel quite so… grounding.

Yes, my process takes time...

But that’s because I love the details. I love when a piece finds its balance, even amid what might appear chaotic; when symmetry feels intentional; When a curl is twisted just enough for the end to rest perfectly against the base wire, forming a seamless circle.

After more than twenty years of wire wrapping, I’ve learned that mindfulness matters more than speed, and that intention can matter more than output.

And THAT is okay.

For me, this kind of work is about listening.
To the wire.
To the design.
And to the part of myself that already knows when something feels complete.

Not everything needs to be rushed. Some things are meant to be shaped slowly and pondered over. As I relearn what makes my style uniquely mine, I'm also rediscovering what I love about this craft. And I’m reminded yet again that the ending is only a destination, but the journey to get there is what makes a story satisfying.

Happy wrapping everyone! And I hope you all have a Merry Christmas. 😊

So!! As we get ready for the holidays, I haven't had time ti update everyone with some of my new pretties! Im still working on getting pictures (since we have much less time with daylight than we used to, and I've been running around like a crazy person) BUT... I grabbed a few photos of one of the new sets of earrings I finished the other day, and I love how they turned out!

I simply LOVE the contrast between the orange and champaign beads, and the light teal blue of the accents! They almost look like they glow in proper sunlight! I staged them against one of my FAVORITE autumn sweaters... and let's be honest, they look like they were made to go with that sweater (even though they weren't. ;) ) They took roughly 3 hours to make, and all links, headpins, and the 2 earwires are also handmade because its so important to me that all of my elements match and are made with intention ^_^

One of the things I absolutely enjoy about making jewelry is how fun it is, not only to step out of the box and create things that are truly unique, but also discovering combinations that just "work" well together. This teal and orange? It ABSOLUTELY brings the feeling of autumn to the table. It's those bright orange leaves against a crisp blue sky... it just... works!

What autumn combinations are some of your favorites? Let me know in the comments!

And foe those wondering, these are now available on my site at: https://coffeewithdragonsdesign.com/products/Autumn-Sky-copper-wire-wrapped-earrings-in-orange-champagne-and-teal-p798410274

And I will be adding more pieces as I get the chance to take photos of them!

Working on a few fun pieces right now. :)

Haven't posted any of my work in awhile so I thought it was high time I shared something fun!

Feeling the early fall/late summer vibes this morning, enjoying my coffee on the deck and showing off this awesome wire wrapped pendant which showcases a handmade cabochon and elegant copper swirls!

Price is $45 (which includes shipping anywhere in the States!) I take PayPal, venmo, and square.

And honestly, it's just TOO lovely outside this morning not to take a moment to appreciate it.
