I am interested in jewelry that feels rich without excess.

Pieces where the artistry lies in the work itself: the carving of a stone, the precision of a setting, the balance of proportions.

Tenuitas Ring N.2 brings these elements together through carved white coral, baguette-cut rubies, and 18K gold.

A quiet expression of craftsmanship, brought to life in our Miami atelier.

first met Kyle de Woody at her home, surrounded by her art collection. That glimpse into her world sparked my curiosity. The art one lives with says a lot, but it doesn’t quite replace a deeper conversation. It invites it.
Kyle moves between roles. Collector, curator, advisor. What ties it all together is a way of living with art that feels both instinctive and intentional.
In our conversation, she speaks about growing up in a home where art was not just present, but active. Where making a home was, in itself, an art form.
What stayed with me is her openness. The absence of rigidity.
She reminds us that that collecting, like creating, doesn’t always need to follow a fixed path.
We also spoke about what draws her in.
There isn’t one answer.
Some works confront. Others soothe.
Both matter.
She says: “Art is uniquely positioned to be felt in so many different ways… such fluidity and nuance are so hard to find these days.”
And maybe that is what this conversation holds.
A sense of permission. To look, to feel, to respond without over-defining.

Geometry has always been my language. With this piece, I wanted to see how far it could go.
Not only structure, but also movement. Not only precision, but something more fluid.
The line remains, but it extends.
The cabochons introduce a softness, a rhythm, almost like a drape.
I’ve noticed how often people describe these earrings as sensual. And yes, geometry does not only structure. It allows for freedom, a central theme of the Tenuitas exhibition.

In developing Tenuitas, I found myself approaching the idea of a collection differently.
Rather than building around a single form, I allowed for a series of jewels to emerge. Pieces that share a sentiment, yet express it in distinct ways.

The lapel is one of them.

A jewel of gesture and position, precise, almost quiet, yet deeply symbolic.

Here, placed on a silk brocade chapán (Bukhara, c. 1900), a garment of structure and presence, it becomes a point of articulation.

The lapel has long been associated with authority, with position. And perhaps authorship, of one’s image, of one’s space, is at the center of the bo***ir, and of how we move through the world.

Tenuitas is now on view at Galerie Estrada in Miami.

This project brought me back to the origins of my work—thinking about jewelry not only as adornment, but as a way to construct, to hold, to express something more interior.

I developed a series of one-of-a-kind pieces in dialogue with early twentieth-century garments curated by Zabrina Estrada—each jewel responding to a form, a texture, a gesture.

In approaching the collection, I found myself drawn to carved stones sourced earlier this year in Tucson, and to a more restrained palette. White coral, angel skin coral, soft greens… materials chosen not only for their beauty, but for what they hold—density, history, cultural resonance.

The bo***ir is often described as a place of intimacy. To me, it is also a place where something is gathered. Where one withdraws, not to disappear, but to return more composed.

What emerges is a tension between
Containment and release.
Softness and structure.
Weight and lightness.

A balance that feels particularly necessary today.

Tenuitas opened yesterday at Galerie Estrada.

This collaboration with Zabrina felt very natural from the start. A meeting of two sensibilities, shaped by a shared affinity for the Art Déco era and a certain sense of restraint. Her world, rooted in early twentieth-century decorative arts, and mine, shaped by structure and the body, come together with ease.

The exhibition draws from the world of the bo***ir, a space of intimacy, of gesture, of what is worn for oneself.

I created six one-of-a-kind pieces in dialogue with garments and objects from that universe, jewels meant to be held close.

On view through May 1st, by appointment.

Warmly,
Jessie

Tucson always brings perspective — on time, on beauty, and on the quiet permanence of stones. Grateful for this year’s journey, the treasures brought back, and what they will soon become.

What comes first? The design or the stone.

As I get ready to head to Tucson for my annual gem-hunting trip, this question keeps resurfacing.
The answer is never straightforward.

Sometimes I sketch freely, letting geometry lead. Shapes come first, opening a path. Only then does the search begin for stones that can enhance, complement, and add depth. In those moments, the stone arrives as a response.

Other times, it happens the other way around. A cut, a color, a stone quietly insists. Is it the aesthetic, the energy, or something harder to name? It’s difficult to say. When working with natural treasures, choice is rarely rational. Some stones simply impose themselves. They lead, and the design follows.

For custom projects, it is most often stone first. Whether working around a specific cut or reimagining a family heirloom, the gem becomes the starting point. Everything is then built in dialogue around it. Proportions, lines, setting, intention.

Like for most things in life, the answer is: it depends.

We recently stepped into the world of Deborah de Corral. A Latin Grammy nominee Michelin Guide chef and master of the flame. At her Miami pop up Los Pingüinos she translates the rhythm of music into the art of wood fire cooking proving that true creativity is a holistic process.

“Sound and food can be very nourishing and healing if treated with intention” she tells us. We explored how that same intention lives in the pieces she chooses to wear: the architectural Volute XL Citrine the grounded Milestone Onyx and the vibrant CLÉ N°3 in Coral.
