Before the Rolex Daytona…There was this.

A billion people know the Daytona.
Almost no one knows the watch that came before it.

This is the Rolex Chronograph 6234 — often called the “Pre-Daytona.”

Produced from 1955 to 1961, with only around 2,000 steel examples ever made.

You can already see the Daytona DNA:
the tachymeter scale,
the chronograph layout,
the racing inspiration.

But unlike the Daytona, both the tachymeter and telemeter scales were still printed directly on the dial.
