We’ve been keeping a secret… 👀

And on La Caridad del Cobre’s feast day, we finally get to show her off.

Day 4 I thought one Hail Mary a day would be easy.

It’s one prayer. One minute. One small moment every day until Cachita’s feast day on September 8th.

And somehow, it has not gotten easier. In fact, I think it’s getting harder. I find myself almost forgetting, getting distracted, finding something else that suddenly needs to be done instead of stopping for this one little moment with La Caridad del Cobre and praying for peace.

Maybe that’s part of the point of a novena.

For nine days, we make the choice to come back. To stop what we’re doing. To pray again. Even when we’re distracted. Even when we don’t feel particularly prayerful. Even when life is loud.

I’ve been so encouraged by all the messages from those of you praying along with us. There are so many of us doing this little thing together. 💛

So, Day 4.

One Hail Mary.

For peace in the world, peace in our homes, and maybe a little peace within ourselves too. 🕊️

Day 3 of our Novena to La Caridad del Cobre. 💛🙏🏼

I’ve actually never done a novena before, but Mom requested that we do one leading up to Cachita’s feast day on September 8th… and you know when Mom makes a request, we gotta do it. 😂💛

A novena is a Catholic tradition of praying for nine days, usually for a special intention or leading up to a feast day. Ours is very simple: one Hail Mary every day for nine days, offered for peace. 🕊️

So wherever you are today, take a minute and pray one with us.

She greets customers, organizes trays, asks to design jewelry, and somehow has more enthusiasm than the rest of us before our morning cafecito.

Summer means one thing around here… Ruby is back at the store.

She’s our first volunteer whenever a customer walks in, loves learning every part of the business, and has recently caught the design bug.

Watching a third generation discover what makes this place special never gets old. 💛
