U.S. Producer Prices Are Up 37.6% Since 2021!
That's a significant increase in just over five years.
Our latest chart reveals three important trends:
• 2021-2022: Producer prices climbed sharply.
• 2023-2024: Prices largely stabilized, but remained elevated.
• 2025-2026: Prices began climbing again, reaching their highest level on the chart.
Why does this matter?
When businesses receive higher prices for the goods they produce, those increases can eventually affect what consumers pay. However, not every producer price increase is passed along to shoppers.
The big takeaway: Producer prices didn't return to their 2021 levels after the initial surge. Instead, they've moved even higher.
