1. Morganite is a member of the beryl family, found its name in 1911 when it drew attention of the worlds most esteemed gemstone expert, George Kunz of Tiffany & Co. He named it in honor of banker, philanthropist, gem collector J.P Morgan.
2. Morganite is related to Aquamarine and Emerald has a Mohs sale hardness of 7.5 to 8 which makes it an ideal choice for everyday jewelry. It typically has higher clarity and transparency than Aquamarine’s and Emeralds.
3. The primary source of Morganite are Brazil, Madagascar, along with California, Maine, Connecticut, and North Carolina.
