TODAY & TOMORROW June 5-6 // 10-5 & 10-4. I have a big space straight ahead as you walk into the main barn and I brought a little of EVERYTHING and A LOT of feathers 🪶🪶🪶 This is my first spring market here and my first time at the new location. It’s a lovely space next to a park with little lakes and I saw 3 families of baby geese last night! (I 🤍 Spring!) Daviess County Fairground 4-H Way in Washington, Indiana. It’s gonna be a HOT 🥵 weekend… but you can pop into the Main Barn for a blast of cool air and cool things. Can’t wait to see my Chandelier friends!!

Hi friends and new followers 👋🏼 it’s been foreverrrr since I’ve done an intro. So here it goes….

I’m Kristy. Been making jewelry full time for almost 10 yrs. Mostly selling at artisan markets around the Midwest with the occasional online sale. I never set out to make jewelry. Growing up, I was always immersed in the fine arts + creative endeavors. I began my college education in graphic design. Mainly bc of the encouragement of my dad…job security. But after realizing I had no desire to sit at a computer staring at a screen for hours on end, I shifted gears. Painting + working with materials that I could actually feel were more fulfilling.

So, from graphic design + philosophy to painting + psychology, my goal was to pursue art therapy. But after realizing I’d have to pay thousands more for continued schooling, I shifted again. Deciding there had to be an alternative path, art became my own therapy instead. And I would eventually work over a dozen odd jobs for the next 25 yrs, spending the longest in places where I had at least some creative expression.

It was my desire to travel + live on the road in an rv that led me to consider making jewelry. Bc it was small enough to fit in a van. Lol. But the events of 2020 kinda thwarted that plan. Which I’m not mad about. In retrospect, I’ve seen the advantages of staying put + growing my business first in ways that I don’t think wldv been possible on the road. So, here we are, creating things + spaces + experiences that bring forth beauty + peace. Do I see myself making jewelry forever? Not necessarily. But I do see myself still traveling at some point. And bringing feathers with me for sure!

A few other tidbits:
» I’ll be 48 in June (most wld never guess)
» Introvert at heart (tho I LOVE connecting with y’all at markets!)
» Never married. No kids. (Intentionally)
» Work also as a part-time florist (5 yrs this month)
» I may become a crazy cat lady when I’m older (if I’m not already)
» My real passion is health, wellness, and personal growth

🪶🪶🪶I’m also posting sneak peeks of what will be available in this website drop in my stories this week. And if you join my channel you’ll receive direct messages with all the info about this website drop and any future updates as well. Along with a complete picture gallery of everything that will be available at each drop including sizes. So you’ll be able to have a better idea of what you might want prior to the website opening. I also sneak coupons in there, too, occasionally. 😉

All feathers are made using repurposed or scrap leather. I cut, curl, and paint them all by hand. Anywhere from 2-5 colors sometimes. Each feather is adorned with gemstones, glass, or wood beads depending on the theme of the season. For this years botanical/woodland theme, I’m using a lot of wood, of course, but also green adventurine, jade, amazonite, moss agate, serpentine, malachite, some turquoise, and all kinds of jaspers. And finally, as with all my jewelry, the feathers hang from natural wood charms with hand burned designs meant to diffuse essential oils for all the good smells. So each purchase always includes a free sample of pure, therapeutic-grade essential oil that can be applied to the wood charm if so desired.

SOON, friends!! 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼

Been sick this past week. Again. Twice in the last cpl months. Ugh. I’d forgotten about fire honey, tho! I used to make that yeeeears ago. But I haven’t been sick much over the last 13 yrs or so until now (and cvid once since then). It really is a miracle concoction. Broke up my congestion within minutes. There have been soo many ppl around me who have been sick recently or currently. If you need something natural that’s gonna pack a punch, DM me or just search “fire honey”… I prefer it over fire cider but that works too! Just make sure all the spices are organic and the honey is raw/local 🍯

And now on to the exciting news! What are y’all doing Sunday, Jan 18th? (Aside from watching the NFL payoffs? 🤔). I’ll open the website promptly at 2pm eastern time and leave it open for a few days or until it’s sold out. It will be mostly the festive leather feather earring collection with possibly a few necklaces, maybe hat bands and purse charms too…is there something else you’re interested in? Let me know in the comments.

Just a reminder: all of my jewelry is handmade by me. Most leather is repurposed or scrap. It’s all cut, curled, and painted by hand. And each piece (aside from hatbands) is meant for diffusing with essential oil, so every purchase will include a free sample of pure, therapeutic-grade essential oil that can be applied to the natural wood charm for all the good smells.🌸

My last market of the year is this weekend -» Dec 12-13 Hunt & Gather Market at the Lake County Fairgrounds in Crown Point, Indiana…and because I was sick this past week and sadly missed out on one of my fave markets this past weekend, I’ll have quite a lot of product made and ready! I’m going out with a bang!

After 8 days of feeling like death (three of those with a horrible migraine), I was finally able to finish the new collection of feathers I started well over a week ago. It’s been challenging to get back into making mode after a week of doing mostly nothing other than laying in bed, laying on the couch, snuggling with my cats, drinking tea, drinking bone broth, sipping ElderPower Elderberry by Sundance Botanicals every hour, watching the birds outside my window, watching movies, rewatching outlander, sleeping, trying to sleep…last night was my first full night of sleep and I dreamt of a waffle maker. Lol. Woke up wanting waffles and ready to live life again. Except I have cabin fever and wld prefer to be going on adventures instead of cooped up in my tiny house studio. But alas, we must continue to make all the things. Adventure can wait one more week. 💃🏼

What an AMAZING first day at 🥰🥰🥰…y’all showed up big time! My regular Illinois friends, it was SO good to see your familiar faces. And all the newbies I’ve met… THANK YOU for all your purchases. That was the best first day in sales I’ve done in a long time. Even tho it was a little claustrophobic in the isles and my booth, y’all waited so patiently. I appreciate every one of you.

Thankfully, I have plenty of pretty feathers and diffusing goodies to restock for today. 🪶🪶🪶
