Aistheta Nature-inspired handcrafted jewelry! My jewelry is created using a technique know as fold-forming. Other pieces are created through the beauty of etching.

Color is added with patinas or color pencil. My jewelry is as diverse and individual as people are. A graphic artist and photographer by trade I enjoy exploring different forms of creativity. I have a passion for jewelry and enjoy scouring antique stores, estate sales and the occasional rummage sale for vintage pieces to incorporate into my jewelry. When I’m on a treasure hunt it’s exciting when I spot an item and I can envision how it can be repurposed for one of my pieces! Recently I have also been having fun silversmithing... working with sterling silver. Setting stones in different ways. Creating small pieces of art. In addition I have found the fun and beauty in etching brass and copper. I have achieved some interesting vintage effects with etching and plan to start using the in my jewelery.

Julie Raasch, of Aistheta jewelry, creates nature-inspired jewelry made from copper, sometimes silver or brass. Her work is handcrafted using a technique known as fold-forming, during which metal is heated repeatedly while folding, unfolding, forging, and forming. Etching and traditional metalsmith techniques are often used in conjunction with folding. Stones, beads, and found objects are sometimes included. Each piece of jewelry Julie creates is a sculptural piece of wearable art celebrating the natural world.

You can see Julie’s work in person during the Winterberry Art and Gift Show.

Huge Thank You to everyone who came out for Spirit of the St.Croix this past weekend. Wonderful to see everyone!

Thanks to Lee Ann and her crew for all their work making the art festival such a success!

Plus thanks to the Boy Scouts for all the help. It was great to have help taking the tent down at the end of the show. It's a beast and always easier to handle with help.

What a way to close my travels... last away show of my season.
