I feel incredibly lucky to have grown up on Cape Cod, where the outermost land meets the relentless Atlantic and the light has inspired artists for generations.

I’m not heading into the new year with fresh promises or declarations of change, but with a recommitment to what I’ve always believed.

Art matters. Craft matters. Human beings matter.

Handmade objects and adornments have connected us since the beginning of time. As I watch the world rapidly shift around me, I find myself drawn more deeply to the things I’ve known to be true all along.

We make daily decisions that shape the direction of the world. From the systems we support to the things we buy, I hope we act with care so there’s a chance for a more just, more equitable future.

I want more of us to have an easier time. And I need there to still be art.
