Hello and welcome to RockYouWear! We are Brandon and Samantha, a husband and wife from Rhode Island. We transform ordinary rocks (both beach rocks and semi precious stones) into one of a kind jewelry for rockhounds, beachcombers, and anyone who can’t walk past a good stone without picking it up. Brandon is the artist and Samantha helps with preparatory work and manages the social media. RockYouWea

r started around 15 years ago when Brandon was trying to find a necklace for himself. He wanted something original, something that felt natural and meaningful. When he couldn’t find it, he made it. Using a rock he collected from a Rhode Island beach, he carved his first pendant, a shark design. After getting a lot of compliments, he kept going. That’s when the Etsy shop was born. Brandon grew up minutes from some of Rhode Island’s most popular beaches. He still spends time walking them, searching for stones and drawing inspiration from what he finds.

A fresh batch of jewelry has officially been dropped off at the one and only !

One of our favorite parts of working with local shops is getting to connect with the people behind them. After catching up with owner, Mel, and sharing a few new ideas we've been working on, there's a good chance a brand new collection could be making its way into the shop soon. 👀

☀️ For now, the shelves are freshly stocked and ready for summer!

One thing nobody tells you about laser engraving stone...

The engraving is the easy part. Remembering which settings worked each time is the challenge. 🤪

Behind every clean engraving we achieve, there is a pile of failed settings, test runs, and random notes. Since every rock behaves a little differently, keeping track of what works (and what doesn't) has become part of the process.

With my 40th birthday just around the corner, I decided not to rely on memory anymore.!

Today's shop upgrade: a dry erase board at the laser station to keep all those lessons in one place. 👍

Judging by the struggle, a future in rockhounding is looking a little heavy right now. 😂

​In all seriousness though, our son (now 9 1/2) has big plans to take over the business one day. He’s involved in so much of what we do and even got to cut his very first rock on the trim saw recently! Cutest thing ever! 👏👏

He's truly our favorite little apprentice, and it's been so fun watching his passion for rocks and the business grow over the years!

If you've ever worn one of our pieces, there's a good chance someone has noticed it.

Just yesterday, someone I had just met told me how much they loved the necklace I was wearing. It happened to be this exact style pictured in this post.

Maybe it's because they're made from rocks.
Maybe it's because no two are exactly alike.
Maybe it's because they stand out in a world of mass produced jewelry.

Whatever the reason, we love creating pieces that are anything but ordinary!

Nothing suspicious here. Just a grown man “calling out sick” to fill his pockets with rocks. 😂

The plot twist is that this actually IS our job. 👏

We create jewelry from our own rock collection, and many of our pieces are made from rocks we’ve collected ourselves.
