Hello and welcome to RockYouWear! We are Brandon and Samantha, a husband and wife from Rhode Island. We transform ordinary rocks (both beach rocks and semi precious stones) into one of a kind jewelry for rockhounds, beachcombers, and anyone who can’t walk past a good stone without picking it up. Brandon is the artist and Samantha helps with preparatory work and manages the social media. RockYouWea

r started around 15 years ago when Brandon was trying to find a necklace for himself. He wanted something original, something that felt natural and meaningful. When he couldn’t find it, he made it. Using a rock he collected from a Rhode Island beach, he carved his first pendant, a shark design. After getting a lot of compliments, he kept going. That’s when the Etsy shop was born. Brandon grew up minutes from some of Rhode Island’s most popular beaches. He still spends time walking them, searching for stones and drawing inspiration from what he finds.

​In all seriousness though, our son (now 9 1/2) has big plans to take over the business one day. He’s involved in so much of what we do and even got to cut his very first rock on the trim saw recently! Cutest thing ever! 👏👏

He's truly our favorite little apprentice, and it's been so fun watching his passion for rocks and the business grow over the years!

If you've ever worn one of our pieces, there's a good chance someone has noticed it.

Just yesterday, someone I had just met told me how much they loved the necklace I was wearing. It happened to be this exact style pictured in this post.

Maybe it's because they're made from rocks.
Maybe it's because no two are exactly alike.
Maybe it's because they stand out in a world of mass produced jewelry.

Whatever the reason, we love creating pieces that are anything but ordinary!

The plot twist is that this actually IS our job. 👏

Here's a little update, since things have been quiet around here…

Have you ever felt like life keeps throwing curveballs - and they never seem to stop??

That’s how things have felt for us for a while now. 😔

Here’s the latest:

Five months ago, Brandon’s parents moved in with us so we could support them through his mom’s brain cancer journey.

Since then, I’ve stepped into the role of primary caregiver, alongside Brandon’s dad. My 15+ years of CNA experience has certainly helped, but it’s still been a heavy and trying season - one that requires my full presence and energy as her condition worsens.

Because I have to be intentional about where the little bit of energy (both mental and physical) I have left goes, priorities have shifted. I’ve stepped back from social media and allowed life to slow down, focusing on what matters most right now.

The business has taken a bit of a hit without the time and consistency we once had, but we’re not giving up. Brandon continues creating whenever he can - often while also caring for our 9 year old son and handling many of the things I’m unable to keep up with these days.

New pieces are still being carved and added to our Etsy shop as they’re finished - they’re just happening behind the scenes instead of in front of the camera. 😊
