In the oddity community and when small businesses use animal remains, I see so many using the term “ethically sourced“. However, many of these businesses, do not explain what they mean by that term, and are not transparent about their sources or processes. I think it is incredibly important to let your customers know where your supplies are coming from and how you obtain them. I only use naturally deceased animal remains in my work. I have several friends and connections who live in rural areas of the US, they look for naturally deceased animals in the woods or other climates are near them, process them, and send me the materials for either trades on finished pieces or cash. I have asked other businesses before what ethically sourced meant to them and received answers like “it’s ethical”. This was alarming to me, as ethics may vary from person to person and is a grey area. So, I would like to know from my followers, what does the term “ethically sourced” mean to you?

This mummified baby mouse, nestled inside a vintage pocket watch, will be available EXCLUSIVELY this Sunday at the Pagan Pride Faire in Belmont, NH!

I found this little one while he was dying and tried to save him, but sadly, he didn’t make it. Rather than let his brief existence disappear, I lovingly preserved him as a tiny handmade memorial. 🖤
