I know life comes full circle when my sweet little Japanese mother, Chessy, gifts me her first year wedding anniversary ring presented to her by my father, John R Latendresse, in 1966. The original setting was a classic high polished scalloped edge 18 karat white gold setting featuring this rare bouton shaped natural pearl from the Tennessee River.
I admired this ring my whole life with fond memories rubbing my pointer finger round in circles on the top of this flat bouton, 14.7 x 8 mm. Pearls always seem to be calming and soothing to me especially when they are paired with childhood memories of my parents.

Years later for their 30th wedding anniversary, my father decided to update my mother’s ring. By then, the shank worn thin and metal lacked luster but the pearl endured years of wear and tear with no significant damage and luster intact. Today it is set in this amazing diamond and platinum ring ready for 30 more years of enjoyment!
