I created my very first forged ginkgo leaf ring in the metalsmithing studio at Cedar Crest College. I’ve been recreating this ring in copper ever since. It’s still one of my most popular designs.

Now it’s taking shape and sterling silver for a limited time!

Through April 15, I’m donating 40% of the purchase price to the Cedar Crest College Alumnae Association. Giving back to the place that shaped the metalsmith and business person that I am!

As a small business, I can’t possibly fundraise or make a donation to every cause that asks. When I do support a cause, it’s because it really is meaningful to me.

Right now I’m running a fundraiser for the Cedar Crest College Alumnae Association. Through April 15, 40% of the purchase price of six ginkgo leaf designs will be donated. For all other purchases on my website I will donate 10%.

I graduated from Cedar Crest College in 2011 and those four short years were so impactful. I had many great role models, made new friends and learned skills that helped shape who I am today.

Even if Cedar Crest doesn’t mean as much to you as it means to me, there are three sterling silver ginkgo leaf designs that are on the website exclusively for this fundraiser, go check it out!

We are so thrilled to welcome Sarah Binder of SB Jewelry to our team!

Sarah will be teaching an Intro to Jewelry: Copper Metal Piercing workshop at STEAM on Saturday, March 28th at 10am and 1pm. Cost of this course is $55. Seating is limited so sign up today at steaminnovationlabs.org/classes

A few words about Sarah:
"I am a lifelong Pennsylvania resident, now living and working in New Berlin, where I create handcrafted sculptural jewelry in my home studio. As both an artist and workshop leader, I’m passionate about sharing the hands-on process of metalsmithing and helping others feel confident working with metal. Teaching allows me to pass along not just techniques, but the joy of shaping something meaningful with your own two hands.
I am a graduate of Cedar Crest College, where I studied studio art, jewelry and metalsmithing, business, and marketing. My education gave me a strong technical foundation, but years at the bench have deepened my appreciation for craftsmanship, problem solving, and the unique character that emerges in handmade work.

My jewelry uses the forms and colors of metal to create sculptural pieces inspired by nature and the world around us. Twisting vines, flowing leaves, texture, and unexpected materials often appear in my designs, reflecting a balance between organic beauty and modern life."

For those of you who know my story, you know how much Cedar Crest College means to me. 💛

I graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor of Art, and it was there that I truly found my path in metalsmithing. I spent countless hours in the studio learning from Nelson Maniscalco and William Leth, working as a studio assistant, and building the foundation of the skills I still use every day at my bench here in New Berlin, PA. Cedar Crest is where I learned not just how to solder and saw, but how to make a design feel like it has energy.

So when I was asked if I would create a fundraiser for the Cedar Crest College Alumnae Association, I was honestly thrilled. This one feels personal in the best way.

From February 15 through April 15, I’m donating 40% of the sale price from six special ginkgo leaf designs to the Alumnae Association. Three are handcrafted in warm copper and three in sterling silver. The ginkgo has long symbolized resilience and growth, which feels fitting for a place that shaped so much of who I am as an artist.

During the fundraiser, I’ll also donate 10% of all additional website purchases to the Alumnae Association.

Copper pieces will ship within two weeks of your order. Sterling silver pieces will begin shipping May 1, 2026.

🥰 Happy Valentine’s Day!

Valentine’s Day is not just about chocolate, flowers and date nights…for me it’s about celebrating everything I love. My friends, family, pets, hobbies…and so much more.

I’ve never been a “pink” girl. I don’t love girly girl things…that probably sounds odd coming from someone who makes jewelry. I love things that are unique and tell a story, whether it’s a piece of art that evokes emotion or an antique that has stood the test of time. That’s what I strive for with my jewelry designs, unique and designed to be treasured for a long time.
