Jessup's of Daytona was originally established as a hardware store by Mr. It soon transformed into a pawnshop as a result of tough times during the Great Depression. Jessup’s retirement, it was passed down to his two daughters, Esther & Ruth Jessup. Years later, upon their retirement, it was then purchased in 1973 by Ruth’s son, Roger Harshaw, who is still the owner to this day. Jessup’s of New Sm

yrna was independently established in 1981 by Sheila Harshaw (former wife of Roger Harshaw). Sheila owned and operated the New Smyrna Beach location until 2004, when Roger and Sheila’s son, Trey Harshaw, purchased the family business. Trey is the current owner of Jessup’s of New Smyrna at its original location. Trey is the great grandson of Charles Jessup and fourth generation owner.

You may recognize the first photo from Beach St. in Daytona, Jessup's opened it's 1st location in 1931 and 50 years later the family opened it's doors to the New Smyrna Location in 1981. We now proudly possess the original sign refurbished to hold a piece of history on the front of the last open store.
