This model was nicknamed “freccione” or “big arrow” by Italian collectors for the orange 24 hour hand which aided in deciphering day/night for its initial design and intended use of cave exploration. This example features a “decimal” dial that shows 10th of a second rather than 60ths which were better suited for accuracy in scientific research/testing as opposed to most examples which were used to track lap times on racetracks.
