Cabochon turquoise of remarkable scale, twisted 18-karat gold rope prongs, pavé diamond petals in platinum radiating outward — 36 grams on the hand.
The 1960s was when colored stones stopped being accents and started being the argument.

Pansies in anodized aluminium: rose dissolving into violet, each petal satin to the touch, impossibly light for their scale.
There are perhaps a handful of jewelers in history who made people feel something just by being near the work. Rosenthal is one of them.
To wear JAR is to understand why the waitlist existed.

Buccellati didn't weave gold like a jeweler. They wove it like a textile house that happened to work in precious metal.
