I designed the original dream catcher star necklace in 2013 when I first moved to Los Angeles. The necklace became an instant best seller and I added this necklace on to my everyday layer with the Symbolic Gem Necklace I had been wearing since 2011.
In 2016 I decided to add a new more statement like twist to the necklace and created the Dreamcatcher Star Venus Necklace. Originally it was only available in white opal and then in Peruvian Blue opal.its such a fun piece and decided to bring it back this spring in lots of different gem colors. This necklace like most of my pieces is versatile and easy to wear but also stands out really well on its own. With all the gem colors to choose from which will be your go to for the season!!

I have always loved layering. Since I was young I always had on multiple necklace, bracelets, rings and had many ear piecing so I could layer my earring game as well. So when I started designing jewelry I incorporated my love of layers into many of my earlier designs. One of those designs is the Tourmaline Duo Necklace which I created in the summer of 2007.

I was looking to make a piece that was easy to wear everyday that would give the double layering look in one piece. I created the necklace with 6mm heart shape tourmalines with the op layer as a thin open link chain. What came out of it was a piece I could make many of but still keep one of a kind by how I arranged the gemstones as tourmalines come in some many beautiful colors and shades.

I decided to bring this one back pretty much just because I love the design and the versatility of this necklace. In the updated version I added a slightly larger link chain and 10mm round tourmalines. I purchased these beautiful stones last fall and held onto them until I found the design that showcased how special they are. Little did I know at the time I already had the design. I love this necklace the the way it falls on my neck and I would love to create one for you.

I have been designing jewelry now for 24 years. This July will be 20 year since I officially launched Dana Blair Designs. I have many pieces that I stopped making for no reason in particular except that I got busy creating new designs. These pieces have been requested and ordered many times even after I stopped making them for my NYC boutique and Pop up events and have decided to bring a few of them back however with a refresh.

I’ll be sharing many of these pieces this month with a new twist! The first necklace is a very treasured piece for me …Symbolic Gem Necklace 💜
I initially created the Symbolic Gem Necklace in 2011. I was feeling a bit off and no amount of my usual go to’s were working..yoga, running, cocktail, reading, time with friends.

Having hundreds of gemstones in front of me I starting laying out a variety of different stones that felt good when I held them in my hand. I played around with the order of them many times and finally came up with the structure that felt right. I put the necklace on and almost instantly felt a shift. I wore that necklace for more than 5 years. I continued to make this necklace until 2020, each one with the same gemstones with varying shape stones so each one was a unique one of a kind. To date it’s been my best selling necklace. I have recreated this necklace in the same manner. Laying many gemstones and spent a few hours moving them around until it felt right. This time I have changed a few of the gemstones as they feel right in this moment. I hope you continue to love and connect with this piece as much as I do
