While studying fashion at the prestigious Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design (London), Deepa Gurnani beaded couture pieces for Alexander McQueen, Emanuel Ungaro, Fendi, Marjan Pejoski, etc. Working closely with these designers not only enabled Deepa to understand European standards of quality and finish, but also compelled her to experiment with beading and embroidery techniques. Jay Lakhani, a jewelry designer from the Fashion Institute of Technology (NYC), always dreamt of creating jeweled accessories. Having trained under the head designers of Tiffany and Bulgari, as well as working in the fine jewelry industry with some of the largest retailers and manufacturers for eight years, Jay was always drawn to fashion. With basics and black on the rise in fashion, he was keen to create something distinct and unusual, something that would make a statement and give the wearer a distinct sense of style, glamour and individuality. After their marriage, the two designers collaborated their ideas and launched their label "Deepa Gurnani".

In celebration of our 20th anniversary of bringing beauty and opulence to the world through our hand embroidered creations, this season we drew inspiration from the Deepa Gurnani Archives to revisit icons of our elegant history and dip them in a new glimmer of novelty for an audacious collection. Each piece boldly dazzles with its lustrous shades of gold and indulges with its magnificent crystals and detailed motifs.

As has been, and continues to be our mission for 20 fabulous years , ‘Eve’ was elaborately designed in New York City and painstakingly hand embroidered by our team of Artisans in India for the women who dare to rejoice in their presence with confidence and whose aura shines with glamor at every step.

This collection tells an ancient story of the beginning of time, where a radiant sky illuminates the earth with its warm magnificence. In this paradise, cascading crystals rain over splendid flowers that wreathe with grace, serpents crawl in the grass carrying secrets and gilded birds come down from the sky as divine messengers. Experiencing all this splendor is a woman tempted by liberation who bravely seeks to assert herself through self expression.

This ‘Once upon a time’ tale is retold time and time again. With “EVE ” we share with you a collection of pieces designed with a bold composition that demands attention.
