Yesterday morning I was on Etsy’s homepage just checking things out, seeing what’s popular and I saw that 90s Tortoise Shell Fashion came up, you know, because of the Carolyn Bessette FX show. I can go on and on, about tortoise Shell and the 90s, but this post is more about the last 24 hours and how much I have been prepping my shop just in case tortoise has one of its many moments, since, well my family put it on the map decades ago in my humble opinion. I’ve spent my time refinishing, cleaning hair accessories, hoops and cuff bracelets. Here’s a little reel showing my barrette refurbishing process and my little buddy Kwazii keeping watch.

These circle drop earrings were always our best seller after the hoops when we were purely wholesalers. They’re lightweight, but simple statement earrings with great movement. They are not as easy to sell online as in person, but they are finally having a moment on Etsy, so I decided to finally add more colors to the shop. Some very special colors like abalone, alabaster, classic tortoise and antique tortoise.

My personal year in review. I hit all of my goals for the year on I was accepted into and joined the and I did even more pop up markets with .
As you swipe, the images tell the story of my year through my designs, focus and inspiration. The beginning of the year brought many custom order requests for tortoise earrings that got me making new, updated tortoise shell classics. I delved into bag charms by using my collection of parts. As always, light horn was one of my best sellers, and I did not ignore it! And then my favorite: color color color! I threw myself into the world of maximalist colorful jewelry while of course mixing in some neutrals with it. It was fun AND well received and now I’m at it again. This past week I’ve been organizing my Lisa August space, setting some goals and coming up with my first styles and pieces I want to begin listing next. I’m looking forward to seeing what this year brings!
