Its sunburst brown dial is finished with rose gold applied numerals and rounded baton-style hands, both treated with white luminescent coating for clarity.

The design carries through to a fully polished rose gold bracelet with a patented fold-over clasp, while the sapphire crystal case back reveals the self-winding caliber 26-330 S C, complete with sweep seconds and a date in an aperture at the 6pm position.

The annual calendar has been a complication that has long been central to Patek Philippe’s identity, though few references present the complication with the openness and warmth of the Ref. 5396R-016. Its calendar display is organized through twin apertures for the day and month which frame the upper portion of the dial, balanced by a moon phase and date display that preserve the symmetry at the bottom end.

The 18K rose gold case is paired with a sunburst sand beige dial, where applied “obus” style hour markers and rose gold faceted dauphine-style hands give the watch a softer and more contemporary character. Beneath the surface, the self-winding caliber 26-330 S QA LU 24H continues the focus on refinement and mechanical ingenuity that defines the reference.

This year, Wempe joined the legendary 24h Nürburgring for the first time as Official Timing Partner, bringing together motorsport and fine watchmaking at one of the world’s most demanding endurance races. From the intensity of pit lane to night racing at the limit, the weekend reflected what connects both worlds: concentration under pressure, technical precision, and performance measured over time.

A special moment came as Chiara Wempe presented the limited Wempe 24h Nürburgring Edition timepieces to the winning Mercedes AMG Team Ravenol, including Wempe brand ambassador Fabian Schiller, honoring 24 hours of teamwork, endurance, and focus.
