I collected the gemstone a few years ago. I was drawn to the shimmering appearance, reminiscent of a river flowing across the stone. This reminded me of the song ‘Moon River,’ which I sang with my family as a child.

A glimpse into my studio, and the story behind it.

This wall holds more than just my work. It’s a reflection of where it all comes from. I grew up surrounded by art, my mother, a sculptor working on large scale, nature driven pieces, and my grandfather, William Gaskin, who helped shape the arts in San Francisco through the San Francisco Art Commission.

I studied sculpture and metalsmithing in San Francisco, and for the past 18 years, I’ve been building on that foundation, carrying forward a lineage of making, material, and meaning. Every piece I create is connected to that history.

Happy Earth Day. 🌎🕊️

Today felt like a fitting moment to share a little more about the materials and process behind my work. Each piece is created using 100% upcycled gold, refined from reclaimed scrap and vintage jewelry, then purified into 14k, 18k, and 22k gold for bands and other designs.

Made in-house in New York, each collection is produced in small runs and limited releases, with an emphasis on craftsmanship, intention, and a more considered approach to production.

It’s one small way to help lessen the environmental impact of gold mining while creating pieces designed to endure.
