Tie Dye Traditions Tory Burch x Marasim collaboration 
Tie-dye, drawing from bandhani and shibori influences, entails binding, folding, twisting, or stitching fabric before immersion.
The Fabric is dipped in a dye bath, the ties acting as barriers to pe*******on. Upon removal of ties, white or lighter patterns emerge. Each knot and fold responds uniquely to the bath, yielding soft gradients and unexpected depth — playful yet profoundly sophisticated.

We are really excited to share our latest collaboration with Tory Burch for their Resort 2027 collection. We’ve brought traditional resist dyeing techniques to their signature custom jacquard fabric, and it’s been such a beautiful meeting of our heritage craftsmanship and their contemporary vision. It reminds us how special it is when different worlds come together through cloth — creating pieces that carry stories from many hands and hearts.

In this month’s newsletter, we explore the evolution of basketry to macrame and the softening of knotted cords to soft, fine textiles

As macramé evolved, so too did its materials. Moving beyond the rigid fibers of traditional basketry, the craft embraced softer, more pliable threads such as cotton, silk, and linen. This shift enabled macramé to transition into more delicate, textile expressions, with drape and movement. By the 18th and 19th centuries, macramé began appearing in fashion and decorative accessories, including intricately knotted handbags, fringed shawls, and scarves.
