An original vintage Wellendorf ring from the late 1970s. Wellendorf is a prestigious German jewelry house founded in 1893, fifth generation, with an obsessive focus on 18k gold craftsmanship, proprietary techniques and jewellery engineering. Likened to Cartier in its heritage and prestige, they became known for extremely specialised goldworking such as the spinning ring.

ON THIS DAY ✨ I married my best friend and simultaneously the seed was planted for the idea of Hail The Maison. I knew I wanted a vintage wedding band to match my Victorian engagement ring and after looking at some rather high end antique stores I decided to hunt it down myself. It wasn’t until two years later I would start HTM but the knowledge and passion grew from there.

People are often intrigued about my bridal stack - now I could have a 3ct+ old mine cushion if I wanted to, sure, but sentimentality is of far more worth to me than the eyes and opinions of others. It marks a time in our lives, a moment of deep care and consideration and all the travel, growth and life milestones that would come after that (and there’s been so much, we have lived such full lives already).

So my unsolicited advice for engagement rings and wedding bands on this anniversary is to find something that represents you (where you’ve been, where you are, maybe even where you’re going). Engagement rings aren’t a trend, they are an heirloom, something in 10/20/50 years time you’ll look down at and all those beautiful memories will come flooding to you and you will smile big and broad and your heart will swell with the immense joy of having experienced such great love.
