A “Pafta” belt buckle carved out of mother of pearl. The image depicts St. George slaying the dragon. These belt buckles were made in the 18th century by Christians as a symbol of resistance during the Ottoman Turk occupation. Beautiful condition and carving quality, mounted in the mid 20th century.
