Seeing this amount of rough Paraíba tourmaline is not something you come across every day in this trade. And I’ve seen some things over the years. It’s honestly insane to think about how much value is sitting in both of my cupped hands, paid upfront for material that’s this rare and sought after all over the world. The color, the rarity, and the potential in these stones are hard to put into words when you see them in person. They still have a lot of processing ahead, but that’s part of the journey. I’m really excited to see how these turn out and to share some of the finished stones with all of you soon. This material is from Mozambique.

Wanted to share a quick story about buying gems in . People often assume you get the best deals at the source, and sometimes you do, but there are also plenty of fakes and misrepresented stones out there. I’ve heard countless stories of people buying “ ” right at the mines, thinking it’s safe, only to find out later it wasn’t what they thought. You always have to stay sharp.

In this case, I wasn’t 100% sure, so I had it checked by the lab in . For $10, it saved me from what could’ve been a costly mistake and gave me a pretty good story in the process.

I went to my first last Saturday in NJ and it was an interesting experience. It’s called and although I felt a little out of place, it was definitely something to cross off on the bucket list. are people under their costumes and people like and jewelry and its fun to bridge the gap.

Exploring niche communities has always been an interest of mine and you only live once so may as well get out and experience what life has to offer.

Unheated ❌ 🔥2.1ct beautiful blue sapphire. When unheated are crazy expensive these days, this one is very reasonably priced. And yes it’s very clean, even under the loupe.
