I love my job , I get to look at pretty pieces of history , look at the craftsmanship on this vintage pocketwatch , such a beautiful piece of history .

The Production Date:places the factory production of this movement right between 1891 and 1892.

Courvoisier & Wilcox 14k case showcases an exceptional example of multi-tonal Victorian engraving.

The name on the porcelain dial, "BOYNE & BADGER / - CHARLOTTE - / N.C.", does not indicate the actual factory manufacturer of the watch movement. Instead, it represents a jeweler's private label.

In the late 1800s, it was standard practice for prominent local jewelry stores to order high-quality watch movements and dials stamped with their own store name directly from manufacturers like Elgin, Waltham, or Illinois.

Historical Charlotte business directories place Boyne & Badger Jewelers at 4 S. Tryon Street in downtown Charlotte around 1889.
