Meet The Mermaid Necklace 🐚🌊

Some pieces mean a little more to us than others… and this is one of them.

At the core of Raising Surfers has always been community. We’ve never wanted to just make jewelry — we’ve wanted every collection to feel connected to real people, real places, and real moments that stay with you forever.

This piece began years ago as a request from one of our very first shop owners. Her energy was truly unmatched. She lived and loved by the sea, and even during some of the hardest battles in her health journey, she always met us with kindness, warmth, and light. We always loved delivering in-person to her because being around her just felt special.

She wanted to redesign a piece she owned that meant something deeply personal to her, engraved with the words “Cherish + Protect” but to add a mermaid— a reflection of her love for the ocean and the life she built beside it. 🌊

Fast forward a few years later, when we began our Mermaid Market, designed a mermaid for us that instantly felt like us. We loved it so much it eventually became part of our branding and identity. What makes it even more special is that also lived in the very same town as our beloved shop owner. We truly think she would’ve loved this mermaid even more than the first.

Although her battle was ultimately lost, this piece lives on as a reminder of her spirit, her love for the sea, and the beautiful connections that helped shape this brand into what it is today. We all truly are mermaids at heart.

We say it all the time — Raising Surfers is a bleeding heart behind the scenes. This necklace is just one of many stories woven into our collection, and one of the reasons this journey feels so meaningful to us.

We feel incredibly lucky for every connection, every conversation, and every person who has become part of this community along the way. 🌊✨
