I’m still reeling from last weekend. One of my poems won the Sybil Nash Abrams Award for poetry, presented by the Poets’ Roundtable of Arkansas.

Poetry was my first creative love. I stepped away from it for many years for lack of confidence and time. Over the past few years, I dove headfirst back into it.

This is a real milestone and a huge honor. It took my breath away and gave me courage to keep writing at a time when I was feeling insecure (if you ever want to feel the most insecure in your life, start submitting your writing to journals and agents).

I’m so excited to continue my writing journey and hopefully share more of it with you as I go 💙
