BREAKING: HOORAY! The newlywed wife of a US Army sergeant has been FREED from ICE prison after Sen. Mark Kelly stepped in to help!
Staff Sgt. Matthew Blank and Annie Ramos got married in March and were excited to start their new life together, living together on the military base where Blank lived in Louisiana.
But before they could even finish the check-in process, Ramos was swooped up by federal agents and thrown in a concentration camp with hundreds of other women to await deportation, where she was trapped for five days.
Democratic Senator Mark Kelly stepped in and called new DHS chief Markwayne Mullin and secured her quick release. Even though Trump’s goons are still making her suffer the humiliation of having to wear an ankle monitor, she can at least put her wedding ring back on, which ICE made her remove.
“I am grateful to God for being with me during this hard time, and for having my husband and family supporting me,” Ms. Ramos said.
“I feel awesome. Relieved,” Sergeant Blank said. “These have been the worst days of my life.”
It turns out that Sen. Kelly had met Matthew while he was deployed to Europe last year. “I never imagined that after meeting Matt during his deployment to Poland last year, I’d be on the phone with him and his wife today as she was released from ICE detention,” wrote Sen. Kelly on Twitter.
“I’m happy Annie is back with her husband and family where she belongs. They never should have gone through this painful process, but far too many families like theirs are because of this administration.”
We’re also very happy. Now we need to secure the release of EVERY innocent immigrant locked up in Trump’s disgusting gulags and put an end to Stephen Miller’s mass deportation schemes for good.
Thank you, Sen. Kelly, for doing the right thing and taking action to right this terrible wrong. You can always rely on a Democrat to step in and help.
