I have heard a lot of people who wanted to start a business—whether it is mowing lawns, creating a new product, crafting something, or reselling. So many fail because they never actually start; they get overwhelmed by daunting expenses.
Or maybe they go through with the purchase, but they fail anyway because they had no idea if it was something they actually wanted to stick with, having never put in the foundational time.
The best way to make your business successful is to start by using what you have.
I am new to business, I am not a large business owner, and I do not plan to be anything more than a hobbyist.
However, I have learned a lot through my studies and my experience making rings.
Sometimes we hear the old saying, "You have to spend money to make money."
And in some ways, it is true.
But before you spend money, cultivate your skills and buy only what is strictly necessary.
Too often, we buy gear thinking it will magically bring about the means to run a fun business that brings in income.
The secret sauce isn't what you buy and consume
The secret sauce is your discipline, abilities, and creation.
Focus on your skills that are needed in this world. People will pay you as a result.
As you pour money back into the business, you can begin to upgrade piece by piece.
Never run before you walk.
Buying expensive equipment before you're ready is running before you can walk.
Earn before you burn. (Money that is)
And if you fail or decide not continue, that is no problem! Consider, that in order to discover what holes to fill in the world, it will take some trial and error to find what you WANT to do!
