LETTING OUR GIRLIE SHOW!
Join us for a little celebrating, a little showing … and maybe a little happy dance or two, welcoming the fall 2025 return of The Girlie Show . Thanks to an exciting new partnership with Arts Council OKC, this beloved local event is back in all its pink glory, now with a mission to help fund arts in schools. Original Girlie Show founders Erin Merryweather, Dawn Harth and Marilyn Artus will be exhibiting a bit of their jewelry and mixed media works, you can pre-order your official Girlie Show t-shirt, and we’ll all be thinking pink. Don’t miss it!

Opening September 5th. Friday 6-9pm, LITTLE D GALLERY / Paseo District’s 1st Friday Art Walk

We lost our friend Charles Kirby aka Cuz…a Plaza District iconic figure and fixture, usually stationed outside DNA, Collected Thread, Tree & Leaf and Velvet Monkey. He even had a special chair with his name on it. Years ago before the Plaza was revitalized, Charles lived in apartments where The Mule eventually moved into. Because of 16th Street growth and development he relocated, but was still at the Plaza, riding his bike down every day to hang out with his people. He was taken care by his Plaza family throughout the years, who had a little memorial for him on this warm summer July day. Sweet friends even made bandanas and prints to commemorate him with his favorite saying, “Don’t work too hard”. He would always greet me when I went in to work at DNA with a, “Hey pretty lady”, but don’t think you were special. He said it to ALL the ladies! It was a special day when he actually remembered my name. Charles was a true character. He will be missed by many. The Plaza wont be the same without him.
