🚨 IMPORTANT TRAVEL UPDATE FOR OURAY VISITORS 🚨
There has been some confusion, so here’s what you need to know:
✅ Visitors traveling FROM Ridgway TO Ouray ARE allowed to use County Road 17 (CR 17) to reach Ouray. This detour is not just for residents—it is open for local commuters, visitors with a destination in Ouray, and local deliveries.
❌ If you are simply passing through Ouray to continue south (or north), you cannot use CR 17. Through traffic must use the CO 145 detour through Telluride.
Bottom line:
🏔️ If Ouray is your destination, you can still get here from Ridgway via CR 17. Our restaurants, shops, hotels, attractions, and businesses are OPEN and appreciate your support now more than ever.
