A lovely Victorian butterfly pendant has just flown in for evaluation. Isn't she beautiful? Old mine and rose cut diamonds, cabochon emeralds, and touches of black enamel for contrast. She would have graced the neck of an elegant lady; just imagine the parties she has been to, sparkling in the candlelight or early electric lights. If only she could talk!

Another opal for October., Opal is the only gemstone that can exhibit every color of the rainbow in a single gem. Traditionally from Australia, as is this one from our Estate Collection, they are also found in Mexico and a newer source, Ethiopia, in addition to other places around the globe. Lucky you if you were born in October, as this is your birthstone! Arabs felt opals fell from the sky in bolts of lightning. Aboriginal Australians thought the Creator came to Earth on a rainbow, leaving opals in his footprints. And because opals contain all colors, people believed they contain the magical powers of all other gems. This stunning ring is currently at our Los Altos store; come pay it a visit!

This is another new addition to our Estate Collection. This is a black boulder opal in a classic setting by NaHoku, the Hawaiian company that is so popular with travelers. This joins several other pieces from the NaHoku Collection in our cases, but this is perhaps the most spectacular. Currently at our Stanford Shopping Center store.

Today we are celebrating two team members: Hank Stenner's birthday and Grace Imielski's wedding anniversary! And what better way to celebrate than with a Tiramisu cake from La Baguette? What a fabulous neighbor to have at Stanford than an independent bakery which makes everything on the premises. Yum yum!

Art Deco platinum, diamond and emerald bracelet by Tiffany & Co. We were thrilled when this was brought into our store to add to our Estate Collection. Best of all, this is a bracelet that has been worn and loved by its previous owner, bringing all that good karma and history along with it. Currently at our Stanford Shopping Center store.

This stunning mid-century brooch is by Wedderien, a New York firm which was known for its exquisite quality and workmanship. The rectangular nephrite center is surrounded by hand-drawn wire, precisely curved and matched, accented with rubies in platinum bezels. The diamonds at the corners are also set in platinum. Jewelry from this company does not often come on the market, so we were particularly excited to add this to our Estate Collection. This brooch measures nearly 2" long. ;
