If you ever need a ring cut off due to swelling or discomfort, we can do this safely in-house.
However, there are other options you can try at home, but only if there is no pain, injury, or loss of circulation.
👉 First, try Windex: often times if you have just woken up or had a salty meal, your fingers are just slightly swollen and sprits of Windex is all you need to slide your ring right off.
⚠️ If the finger is very swollen, painful, discolored, or numb, do not try this, please seek professional medical help!
Your local jewelry store, fire station and ER department often have the same equipment we use to cut rings off quickly.
Once the ring has been removed, it’s important to allow your finger time to recover before resizing, especially if caused from an injury, swelling needs to fully settle first, this can take a few days to a couple of weeks, depending on the cause.
Resizing too soon can result in an incorrect fit, so a little patience ensures the ring is comfortable and right long-term.
