August Axel Jewelry Studio in Peachtree City serves Metro Atlanta & beyond with technique-based jewelry classes for beginners thru advanced artists.

Designed for creative & technical minds, our small classes build real skills w/o long-term commitments. The August Axel Jewelry Studio is a creative workshop, born in Venice Beach, CA, and now in the Atlanta Area. We are dedicated to the care & feeding of creative hearts/hands/brains through Jewelry Techniques. Beginners to Talented Tinkerers to Advanced Artists. We were once students, ourselves, so we understand the value of teaching not only "how" but "why". Our goal is to provide solid and safe bench-instruction, combined with hands-on practice, so artists may operate safely, independently and successfully. (And have a lot of fun at the same time!)

Each of our Instructors has a wealth of knowledge, loads of bench-experience, endless patience and a wicked sense of humor! ALL ARE WELCOME. We look forward to meeting you.

Turn a little piece of nostalgia into jewelry that accents your favorite outfits in Soft Soldering: Reusing Granny’s China.

We’ll start with a couple of practice exercises to get comfortable with the soldering iron, then move into pendant making. No torch required!

A little torch time. A bit of encouragement. 🔥 Voila!

This mother-daughter team spent part of their Saturday learning to join metal with a torch and solder, having a few laughs, encouraging each other through every new step, and celebrating each small victory.

Jewelry Soldering for Beginners is about more than making stacking rings. You’ll learn real metalsmithing techniques, build confidence, and discover what your own two hands can do.

There’s a proposal in the making at August Axel. 💍

A young man came in for a private Make Your Own Wedding Band session and made a textured silver ring with his own hands. Now he has a plan: take selfies with his intended and quietly sneak the ring into the photos without her knowing. We can’t show his face or give away the surprise, but we can share a few steps from his time at the bench.

Imagine looking back at those photos after the proposal and spotting the ring hiding in plain sight. 🥹

They learned to solder and came back the very next day for more! 🔥💎

Every student in yesterday’s Bezel Fabrication and Setting class had taken Jewelry Soldering for Beginners the day before. They were excited to keep building their skills, so we moved straight from joining metal to fabricating bezels and securely setting stones.

We intentionally work with small stones. Ouch. They introduce plenty of challenges, which creates a deep, hands-on learning experience and helps students understand the precision behind a well-made bezel. We also discuss larger stones and the different challenges they present.

One student had been watching online videos but still couldn’t quite find success. We understand! Sometimes you need an instructor beside you: watching how you hold the torch, spotting the tiny adjustment you can’t see, and helping you understand why something isn’t working.

That’s why hands-on learning in a small, supportive class will always be our favorite. Real tools. Real techniques. Real-time guidance. And a room full of makers cheering one another on.

Two sisters. One birthday celebration. Two completely different creative goals. 🎂✨

🔥 One sister wanted to learn torch soldering so she could join metal securely and create strong, interesting forms for her intricate wire-wrapped jewelry.

🔨 The other explored cold connections, learning to rivet her advanced wire-wrapped pieces onto leather bracelets.

Meet Caroline, our newest August Axel instructor!
Caroline is a recent graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology with a BFA in Metalsmithing and Jewelry Design. She also works for one of our town’s favorite jewelers, and now she’ll bring her talent, technical knowledge, and fresh creative energy to classes at August Axel Jewelry Studio.

Her first class is a Stacking Ring Making Experience for our creatively curious guests.

This relaxed Make + Take is a chance to get your hands on real jewelry tools, and yes, a torch, without the pressure or deep technical dive of a full technique-based class. No experience is needed, and we’ll be with you every step of the way.

You’ll leave with your own set of handmade stacking rings and the satisfaction of saying, “I made these.”

And the cost? Probably less than you spent on those wooden-saying signs currently stashed in your basement. We know they’re down there.
